Does This Tour Bus Make My Bank Account Look Big?
Does This Tour Bus Make My Bank Account Look Big?

As a touring professional we all know that the industry can be either feast or famine. Always chasing the next gig, event, and local productions. When you are off tour the harrowing search begins on what to do next and how to budget the finances you have left. If you are not on your toes to quickly pivot then the financial roller coaster ride can be an all time high or a spiraling depressing low. One month you’re on a major tour, the per diem is rolling in, the paycheck clears, and life feels pretty comfortable. The next month you’re back home refreshing your inbox, calling contacts, and wondering where the next gig is coming from.

During touring highs the bills are paid more than minimum payments and some splurging in everyday life starts. Sometimes a fancy restaurant, a lavish relaxing spa appointment on a day off, or a new car for when you return home. The tour depressing lows are when the budgeting unravels. Suddenly you’re staring out the back lounge window after the last show, watching the dark highway disappear behind you, wondering what comes next. The uncertainty creeps in. If another opportunity doesn’t come quickly, the financial pressure can build just as fast.

When left without a viable job offer some consider taking on lower tier positions just to fill the gap. One devalues their worth and experience to put some shiny pennies in their bank account. That in itself starts issues of competitive pay for future gigs. Reflect on those resume questions of "what was your last pay?" I’ve been part of the music industry since 1998, and I also hold a master’s degree in psychology. That combination has given me a unique perspective on both the business and the emotional side of touring. I understand the excitement of being on the road, but I also understand the anxiety, financial stress, and uncertainty that can settle in between tours.

The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way.

Careful financial planning avoids the stresses of uncertainty. Having a trusted licensed and financial honorable planner to assist with budgeting your finances can be crucial in ensuring protection of your financial high periods. Let's establish stability for the depressing lows and the ability to fill the financial gaps without sleepless nights. Avoid the avalanche of stress in the music industry and let me help remove the pressure. Having various licenses and certifications I can assist in establishing a comprehensive structured plan to protect and grow your money.

I offer a complimentary plan that involves providing a free personalized confidential financial needs analysis. That includes thoughtful financial planning that helps you create stability during the slower seasons and build confidence that carries you from one tour to the next. My goal is to help touring professionals protect what they’ve worked so hard to earn and prepare for whatever comes next.

Together, we’ll look at ways to:

 ● Reduce debt and strengthen your financial foundation.

 ● Protect and grow your income.

 ● Build emergency savings and create long-term financial security.

 ● Develop strategies for future retirement and life long residual income.

 ● Review affordable life insurance options to help protect you and your family if the unexpected happens while traveling. Emphasizing assurity that it is a low affordable monthly payment for when tour income stops.

 ● Improve and rebuild your credit profile when needed.

If homeownership is one of your goals, I can help there too. As a mortgage loan officer, I understand the unique challenges touring professionals face when documenting income. My team and I work with clients across multiple states and specialize in finding solutions that fit non-traditional income situations. Need a HELOC or REFI? I can help find the best rates and solutions.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is giving back. A portion of every mortgage I close helps support fellow music industry professionals through meal trains, emergency assistance, and fundraising efforts. Taking care of our own matters. Always pay it forward!

Need a bridge loan between tours? I can walk you through financing options that won’t unnecessarily impact your credit while helping you navigate the transition.

I also assist with important planning services, including credit guidance, wills, and notary services, so you can have peace of mind both on and off the road.

Looking for a remote part time gig in between tours? Consider working remotely with me. 100% free educational classes are offered and paid sponsor of your financial licenses. So many to choose from mortgage loan officer, life insurance agent, mutual fund account manager, and more! Excellent opportunity to build your own remote business or work remotely for banks and other institutions when you achieve your licensing. Something to continue on the road as well for down time. I was able to achieve four college degrees, multiple free finance education and licensing, and dozens of certifications. I can help you do the same!

The best part?

My consultation doesn’t cost you anything. The companies I partner with compensate me directly, so our one-hour planning session is completely free.

If spending one hour on a day off could help reduce financial stress, create a plan for the future, and give you greater peace of mind between tours, I’d love the opportunity to talk with you. The only thing that should be riding the highs and lows of touring… is the tour bus—not your bank account.
